Automated Software TestingLicensing Options

At Vermont Creative Software, we strive to provide you the products you want, the way you want. This is why we give you many options for licensing Vermont HighTest Plus.

  • Fixed Licenses
  • Floating Licenses
  • Site Licenses

Fixed Licenses
This is the standard license. It is designed for a single user at a single workstation and the mode the evaluation version of Vermont HighTest Plus runs in. Each user of Vermont HighTest is required to have a license at his or her own workstation.

Floating Licenses
Designed for the roaming tester, or for groups of testers where only a limited number of testers will be using Vermont HighTest at any one time, this license option gives you the greatest flexibility. Once a Floating License is installed on a machine that is designated as the License Server, a single user can use Vermont HighTest on that machine, or on any machine that is connected to the same network and can access the License Server via a mapped drive. Additional floating user licenses can be added at any time to allow as many floating users at any time as you have licenses. Vermont HighTest can be installed in client mode on as many machines as necessary and the server will hand out the licenses on a first-come, first-served basis up to the license limit. As soon as one user is done and has exited Vermont HighTest, that license will be available for the next user.

Site Licenses
A site license allows the installation of Vermont HighTest on an unlimited number of workstations within a single physical location. This allows you to do limited performance and load testing by utilizing many workstations to run the same or different scripts. Various third party products are available to control the execution of Vermont HighTest across multiple workstations.
